I'm finding his analogy with the woman running her pie store to be unrealistic and disappointing. He states that she's in the red with her business, she's already spread too thin and is unhappy. I couldn't believe it when he supports her when she gets the idea to open MORE stores and start her own ORCHARDS to supply her pie stores with fruit. Hello! With what money will she buy an orchard? Will she buy an existing orchard? Does it have all the different fruits she needs? Or will she have to grow trees from ground zero? Getting the orchard business going is more than full-time. The land alone to buy an orchard and make the payments while the orchard is growing would put her under. Never mind the rest of the start up cost. What happens if there is a drought year or other losses that commonly occur in farming? As if she's going to get the employees to "lovingly" cut the fruit as only she and her aunt did...please. She would have to charge $200.00 a pie. Furthermore, there are some businesses that will not allow for franchising. What I do cannot be franchised. Regarding McDonalds...I would not want to be the one responsible for supporting millions of people in becoming obese, diabetic, have heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and the multitude of ailments and addictions their "food" causes. The key piece that most people seem to be missing when talking about the positives of the book is the idea of selling a feeling. He's right with that. It's not about selling good and services, it's about selling a great feeling. That's the most important thing I've gotten from this book. Skip the rest of the BS.

Re: ToDo or not ToDo – Well we love ToodleDo

Will need to look at this tomorrow morning to see if I can scrap the wipeboards and the pen and paper! :D

Re: We’re now Xero Certified Advisors

Cheers for the comments Stuart!

It’s just the start with us and Xero and hopefully it will develop into something truly amazing.
